Tampere 31st International Short Film Festival, March 7 - 11, 2001

Tampere International Short Film Festival was held for the 30th time in March 8-12, 2000. Tampere Film Festival is one of the leading short film festivals in the world. The International Competition is highly esteemed in todays's short film circuit and together with the Finnish Competition it is the heart of the five day event. The special characteristic of Tampere is the emphasis given different short film genres: documentary, fiction and animation films.

In addition Tampere is known for its versatile and ambitious special programmes.In March 2000 South Africa and Ireland were highlighted. Animation retrospectives brought into spotlight Felix the Cat, Winnie the Pooh and Wallace & Gromit.
