Tampere Short and Documentary Film Market is aimed at the
professionals of the audiovisual field. It is primarily
a sales event with a full service structure.
The Film Market is part of the Tampere 30th International
Short Film Festival.
Market
services include an International
seminar (March 10) expert
services for production companies, producers,
distributors and film makers and a mini
workshop for tv-scriptwriters (March 9-10).
Tampere
Film Market is a specialized market with the
focus on Nordic, Eastern European and Baltic productions,
production companies, film makers, distributors and other
professionals. The purpose of the Market is
to support the distribution and market access of films.
Participation of the films is free.

Yliopistonkatu 55 (same as the Festival center):

MINI WORKSHOP for scriptwriters - jointly organised
by PILOTS, a MEDIA programme of the European
Union and subsidised by MEDIA II, and the MEDIA Desk,
Finland.
March 9-10, 2000 (Cost: FIM 450 /EUR 75 - per
project)

PILOTS is the most successful training programme for
scriptwriters within MEDIA II and benefits from the
expertise of top European and American specialists.
The experts/tutors at the Tampere workshop will be:
Guy Meredith (UK), PILOTS' Head of Studies and Charlotte
Lesche (Sweden).
Eligible
projects: Long running series, situation comedies,
mini-series, TV movies, animation and interactive
projects. Project descriptions - 3 to 10 pages
in English - are sent to the tutors IN ADVANCE. Minimum
information necessary: description of the idea, summary
of story and characters (or sample stories in the
case of a series) and the programme's target audience.
Contents:. Thursday
March 9:10-12.30; Advanced TV Writing Techniques;
Mr. Guy Meredith (UK): Tampere Hall/VIP:
3.rd floor. During the course of Thursday afternoon
and all day Friday (March 9 and 10) each team will
have a 2-hour script analysis session with one of
the tutors. Number of teams: 8-10. Application
deadline: January 31, 2000.
