31st Intenational Short Film Festival, March 7-11, 2001 |

Tampere Film Festival gathered year 2001nearly 30,000 visitors. The programme was one of the vastest ever: There were over a hundred screenings among which the most popular were propaganda films by Leni Riefenstahl, electromental screenings, the classics of animation films for children, Peruvian films and the series of Belgian case records.
Tampere Film Festival is to be held next time March 6 - 10, 2002. We will offer highlights of best new short films made on film and special programme with various themes, f.g. little known short films by famous directors, propaganda films and Case Records from European countries. The International Competition and Finnish Competition will play a central part in the programme as well. The biggest winner year 2001 was PV Lehtinen with his film The Diver (Hyppääjä). The Diver received the Grand Prix prize, the Risto Jarva prize, the prize of the best under-30-minute long film in the Finnish Competition, the prize of the Junior Jury in the Finnish Competition, and also the Audience Award in the International Competition.
Besides twenty competition screenings and around 70 special screenings Tampere Film Festival organizes film market, seminars and discussions for filmmakers and other professionals at film industry.
