Up to 150 international guests visit Tampere Film Festival every year, including journalists, filmmakers and other movers and shakers in the field of cinema. They join the more than 100 representatives of Finnish media who attend the festival. Finnish newspapers and magazines run approximately 500 news articles or reports annually dealing with Tampere Film Festival. The event also gets coverage in nationwide broadcast news and current affairs programmes, as well as art and cinema programmes. Reports in foreign media have the potential to reach tens of millions of readers and viewers.

The festival is organised by Tampereen Elokuvajuhlat - Tampere Film Festival Association. Its principal partners are the City of Tampere, Finnish Film Foundation, Finnish Ministry of Education and the AVEK, the Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture. Tampere Film Festival also receives support from other public and private partners.

Tampere Film Festival is a member of the International Short Film Conference ISFC and the European Coordination of Film Festivals eeig. The festival is acknowledged by the International Federation of Film Producers' Association FIAPF and abides by its instructions and regulations.
