Every year the Portuguese Army recruits thousands of citizens to constitute the National Service. At ten p.m. the lights go out in the dormitories. Everyone starts whispering: “Hey, are you awake? I don’t know you at all, but I feel as if you were my brother."

Joka vuosi Portugalin armeija värvää palvelukseen tuhansia kansalaisia. Iltakymmeneltä valot sammutetaan asuntoloissa. Alkaa supatus: "Hei, oletko hereillä? En tunne sinua lainkaan, mutta tunnen aivan kuin olisit veljeni."

Ana, a woman in her thirties, returns to the house where she spent her childhood during the Argentine dictatorship, around 1976. She recalls the last moments she lived there with her brother Ivan and her parents.

Ana, kolmikymppinen nainen, palaa taloon, jossa hän vietti lapsuutensa Argentiinan diktatuurin aikana vuoden 1976 paikkeilla. Mieleen muistuvat viimeiset hetket, jotka hän vietti veljensä Ivanin ja vanhempiensa kanssa.
