A tragic documentary depicting the events of September 1973 in Chile, including shots of anti-Pinochet demonstrations and Victor Jara – later to be assassinated by the military junta – singing “If the people are united, they will never be divided”.

An animation about the peasant Lalli and Bishop Henry. The film places the murder committed by Lalli in a social context and, by doing so, questions Bishop Henry’s right to demand allegiance from Lalli. The encounter between the two has been seen as a precursor to the social conflicts of later eras.

Animaatio talonpoika Lallista ja Piispa Henrikistä. Elokuva asettaa Lallin tekemän murhan yhteiskunnalliseen kontekstiin, ja kyseenalaistaa näin Piispa Henrikin oikeuden vaatia Lallilta kuuliaisuutta. Näiden kohtaamisen on katsottu ennakoivan myöhempiä yhteiskunnallisia konflikteja.

A film about the Sámi people and their homeland. Piece by piece, they have been robbed of their land, language and culture. The film tells the story of the only indigenous people in the Nordic countries and their non-violent struggle for survival.

This medley revisits a number of significant events in the history of Finnish radicalism. Featured are the Independence Day Gala protesters (2002), the first fur farm raid in Finland (1995), the squatting of an apartment building in Helsinki (1987), the action to save Lake Koijärvi (1979), the protests at the visit of the Shah (1970), the occupation of the Old Student Union Building in Helsinki (1968) and the protests against the Russian invasion of Prague (1968). The material is culled mainly from old news inserts. In co-operation with the TV-archive of the Finnish Broadcasting company.

The film follows the Zapatista caravan in March of 2002 on the way to Mexico City. Video also documents the upsurge in paramilitary violence in Chiapas that began in August 2002. This violence is seen in the context of pressure that the federal government is putting on the Zapatista communities to leave their land so that their natural resources can be exploited.

Elokuva seuraa zapatistikaravaanin matkaa kohti Mexico Cityä helmikuussa 2002. Lisäksi dokumentissa käsitellään puolisotilaallisten joukkojen väkivaltaa, joka alkoi Chiapasissa elokuussa 2002. Dokumentin mukaan liittohallituksen pyrkimys on saada zapatistiyhteisöt muuttamaan, jotta näiden maat maat ja luonnonvarat kyettäisiin ottamaan valtion halttuun.

Film is a story of a poor potter’s daughter. Initially, the father assumes that his daughter’s future lies only in the management of all the house hold tasks. He later recognizes in his daughter a strong urge to study and eventually decides to educates her.
