Finnish Film Market
CINE ATLAS (KOSKIKESKUS)
March 9–11

The Association of Indepentent Producers in Finland (SATU) and The Central Organisation of Finnish Film Producers (SEK) organise an international film market in Tampere. The aim of the Finnish Film Market, organised for the first time, is to support the international sale and distribution of Finnish audiovisual production by inviting the buyers and distributors of European TV channels. Twenty Finnish film and television companies are presenting both their completed productions and forthcoming projects, mainly feature films and television drama. The project is financed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The market is also supported by Finnish Film Foundation (SES), the Finnish Institute in Londonand Finnish Broadcasting Company.

Finnish Film Foundation is also organising a seminar on the international film distribution of film and television productions. The seminar will be held on thursday March 10th at 4pm in Vapriikki auditorium. The speakers in the seminar will talk about their process of selecting productions and the things which affect the distribution. They will also discuss the special aspects and marketing on their own areas. The seminar is aimed at Finnish film producers and television professionals. The seminar is free of charge, but because of the limited number of seats, enrolling in advance is necessary. Enrollment by e-mail: taru_venalainen@yahoo.co.uk.
