Filmed in northern Sweden in the summer 2008. It is Samis whose faces are like landscapes, faces integrated in the landscape so that they are a part of a bigger entity. Music is made by Peter Svenzon and it’s made only with voices, without any instruments.

In summer 2007 the seventh annual art exhibition took place in Parkalombolo, a little forest Sami village in northern Sweden, where the forests meet the treeless mountains. There, four cultures come together – forest Sami, mountain Sami, Finnish and Swedish. The film depicts artist Outi Pieski in her father’s home village, Dalvadas in Finnish Lapland, and her visit to Parkalombolo. In Parkalombolo, Outi meets reindeer herder Katarina Sevä. They are each in their separate ways seeking their place in Sami culture.

The film shows the audience part of the knowledge that was earlier passed down from one generation to another through the oral tradition. The story is based on an indigenous philosophy which encourages people to think both in terms of past and future generations. The film was a final work that was part of the director's qualification in Education Material Pedagogy.

A master of the traditional koltta singing, Eljas Moshnikoff from Sevettijärvi, has taught Leudd skills to his grandchild Henna. Thus Leudd lives also in Rovaniemi where Henna Mäki continues the traditions of her forefathers.

Filmed during one day from morning to evening on a reindeer fence in northern Sweden. It was in December, 25 degrees below zero and on the same day as The Tsunami hit Thailand. This was the director’s first encounter with reindeers and the film is a result of her feeling of the encounter.
